Paul Plumeri is well known among Trenton musicians as a master blues guitarist and vocalist. He has been playing with local bands and national acts for more than 30 years. He has also been a popular blues guitar teacher for more than 25 years.
As his website bio explains, Plumeri began playing in clubs when he was still a child, accompanied by his father or an uncle who was an agent and manager working with such high-profile artists as Arthur Prysock and Richard “Groove” Holmes.
In the 1970s, Plumeri earned a good living playing blues throughout New Jersey and neighboring states, leading his own band and later joining the Extremes, a band led by Duke Williams, aka Chris Holmes of the 1960s hit-making band Galaxies IV. He founded the Paul Plumeri Blues Band in 1982, and has stayed committed to the blues genre ever since. In 2013, Plumeri was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, an organization unaffiliated with the Blues Foundation that awards inductees on the basis of votes by fans and fellow musicians.
Plumeri’s son, Paul Plumeri Jr., is also a guitarist and guitar teacher who leads the techmetal band IsYou.
